Prototype 2
A number of elements were changed for the second prototype.
Basic Overview
We constructed a small gride out of black cardboard for our second prototype. The hole for the LED was made to only just fit the LED so that there was little light pollution. Rather then using a pump we opted to use a variety of bottles to pass the water past the light.
Changes Made Live
1.The black was not allowing for the bouncing off of white light. Because the light rays were being upsorbed into the black of the cardboard the light was being defused and not allowing for a nice shape to be present within the water. To solve this we simply roughly lined the box with some white paper to see what the affect was. The difference was amazing, and so we have decided to continue the project forward with only the use of a white sheet of paper.
2. The only thing that we must insure is that the water is falling at a constient rate. Once this is achieved we simply must alter the light. The rate of flashing changes the speed and also the individual illumination of the water droplets. After using many different bottles to try and produce good results we came to the conclusion that we need some sort of valve at each stream to control the rate of the drop.
